I'm going to be putting my rear subframe back in shortly (after washing and painting it) but these squishy things look worn and I'd like to replace them while I've got it out. I just don't know what they are called or where I can get some, preferably not from the dealer. I also don't know how to remove them. They have a bolt on the end. Is it as simple as removing it and tapping them out with a mallet?

I don't know if you can get the boots[I think that's what you're looking for] for the ball joints at the end.. But the bars themselves are called the left and right "lateral link".

Yep, though to get the nut undone you will probably need a power/air impact gun [I did] and again to get them in - MAKE SURE THEY ARE TIGHT when reinstalling.. otherwise the car will try to turn every time you let off/on the gas on the freeway.. Pretty scary >_<

They are the bushes that support the rear lateral links.

I have not seen / am unaware of the bushes being sold on there own.

Mazdatrix sell complete factory replacement lateral links or you can get adjustable after market ones from AWR or Super Now.

But there is no point using the items from AWR or Super Now unless you combine with spherical rear toe bearings so you can adjust toe via the new adjustable lateral links.
