What are these?? Gxl model

Ok so I ordered some racing seats and harnesses and wasn't really thinking about where to mount the harnesses to... Yeah anyway.. I starting talking to some knowledgeable guys and they are stumped. So I realize that the harness bar would bolt to the top where the seatbelt go on the b pillar but my problem is that my belts mount to my actual seats.. Not the b pillar. So pretty much my question is there ANY way that I can still use a harness bar without murdering my plastic.. Oh and btw I found these and I'm not sure what they are... Maybe I could mount the harness bar here.... I have no clue..

That's the emergency retractor for the passive seatbelt system.

I didnt use a harness bar for my harness. If you take your rear bin behind your set off there is 2 holes to screw in 2 bolts thats what i used to hold down the back side of the harness. And theres one on the sides in your carpet. I was still able to put the bin back on over the harness you can kinda see in the pic.

You should have though.
That arrangement does not come close to recommended mounting locations for the shoulder belts, which shouldn't be mounted at such an extreme angle.
Your collarbones are at risk with that setup.

You are absolutely right! It is not a proper way to do it. The belts do not put any stress on my shoulders what so ever and im still pretty snug with them on. The car is more of a weekend car and not an everyday driver which is why i set it up this way.

Good thing accidents never happen on weekends.

when you get in a 5mph accident and compress your spine, you are going to regret this completely.

i can't believe they let you race with that setup, whoever the track stewards are they were extremely irresponsible

I mounted mone in an S4 model..actually a couple of them.
One bar was on the seat belt mounts, another is on the hatch bolt mounts on the pillar(side, whatever).
I'm not to familiar with S5 Mouse belt system only that they are constantly factory recalled for sticking, jamming, etc.
The harness bar adjusters mount to the floor belt mount inside the rocker.,and the main bar again at the upper belt mount inside the rear(at the side where the belt attaches to the pillar).

NOW,IF you heart set on installing that bar then look at converting your seat belt system to an S5 CDN model and then you can get away with not murdering plastic. All the mounting points will come into play when you change the belts and New plastic over to your car.

Ok so the harnesses are paid for and on their way and I have every intent to use them. What are my options. The full seatbelt swap seems like to much effort and probably hard to find. Even if i involves cutting a little plastic, im all ears, I just seriously need to figure this out...

You need to find the mounting points on the car to mount the harness.
That would be on the floor beside the seats, inside the rocker area(where the seat belt would "normally attach") and also the bolt hole for the "top belt mount" that should be ON the car even though it is an S5.
You would have to take the side plastic off for that to find it.

Before you do that though,I would highly suggest that you just let the bar arrive first and see if you can get away with mounting in on the Hatch strut bolts.Like in the pic.
Then you just have to worry about making a small hole through the carpet to access the lower mount points for the harness bar supports.

I'm confused...why are we talking about harnesses AND seat belts?
Remove the stock belts, bolt in a harness bar and you're done.
The mounts for the stock shoulder harness are under the b-pillar plastic and it shouldn't require a lot of plastic trimming to fit the bar.

Not to belabor the point, but if you understand that isn't the proper way to do it, why show other people who are looking for options? You really should fix that.

either way this is completely wrong.

did the OP say what kind of harness it is? if its a 3pt, you can tie the shoulder belt to the factory crash point for the rear seats, whether or not the seats are actually there.

Yeah it is a three point. I'm not sure where you are talking about. Would I have to take the storage bins out to see that?
