What thermostat did I have in before?

New one I ordered from Mazdatrix is on the left, but I don't know what the old one was. There weren't any markings on it from what I could tell.

On another note, does anyone else find that changing coolant with the undertray = MESSY? I swear that stuff was coming out of every crevasse it could find, and saving more for later.

Old one looks like a stocker.

Side note, the new one doesn't have the jiggle-pin.

hmm the old T-stat is hard to tell what brand it is but it looks like one that came from kragen or autozone.

The new one you just tell looks a lot more reliable, you can kinda tell since the new one has that stamped copper and brass piece.

I have also noticed that on most t-stat's made for the FC that came from kragen or one of the auto parts stores have the jiggle pin on the outside flange where as the OEM spec ones for the most part have the jiggle pin more towards the center of the T-stat. Wierd.

Old one is a cheapo autozone one or something... New one is a stantz it looks like not ideal. Mazdatrix for some reason isn't shipping mazda ones anymore.. Atkinsrotary still sells them.. as does the mazda dealership. Or call up Ray Crowe at Malloy.

I wouldn't run either one of those stats in my car.

New one is a Motorad, as is most of them that Mazdatrix is selling these days. Haven't heard of any problems with them thus far so I'll keep it for now.
