What is this tank under the pass headlight?
There is a tank (container) under my pass headlight, directly next to the headlight motor. It does not appear to be the windshield washer reservour, which is located behind this container.
Also, it looks like there is a hose that comes off of the container, and then snakes its way thru to attach to the ACV.
Anyways? What does it do? can I remove it? How do I plug up the ACV if I do remove it?
Thanks,

you're sure your not talking about like the AFM or something?
your wiper fluid container is a little closer to the firewall, but still around there...
but if its black and says MAZDA on it then its part of the stock air box

I know what he's talking about...my Mazda EPC calls it the "relief silencer" It lays horizontal, right? Black? Yeah, that's it. What it does, I have no idea because I just found it on my car a couple of days ago.

If someone can answer the question of what it does and can I remove it, I'd also be interested. Thanks

It is called a air chamber and relief silencer, Yes throw it in the trash. It has no good use but to quite the intake air for the ACV, but it is used as a air source for the catalytic converter to assist with afterburn and emmisions.
If you still have the cats, DO NOT PLUG IT, If you don't have the cats BUY A BLOCK OFF PLATE FOR THE WHOLE ACV.
For referance he said next to the headlight motor, which is not in the engine bay.
