you dont want a streetport, go with a full bridgeport or peripheral port actually, yea, it would be worth it if you have the motor out and/or are rebuilding it.

When I ordered my motor from Atkins a few weeks ago, I went ahead and spent the extra 400 for the large streetport. On top of that, they said it won't void my warranty!!! YIPPEE!!

Damn, you guys are very helpful today aren't you

Try searching for "whats streetporting" or "whats porting" or whatever else. And $200 sounds good if done properly.

i jokingly implied that he should get his motor bridgeported or PP'd instead of a streetport. he did ask if 200 for a streetport is worth it, and in my opinion, if he had the motor out of the car and was taking it apart or rebuilding it that it would be worth it.

i'm guessing you're a newbie, so here's my newbie answer:

if you're getting into mods for your rx7, i would put porting towards the end of that list. here's my reasoning:

1 - without an aftermarket exhaust (i'm talking about removing the cats specifically), you really won't feel much difference having your engine ported. if you've got your cats still in your exhaust, that's gonna be your bottleneck.

2 - when you port the engine, you're gonna rip the engine apart completely...this kind of mod isn't a plug and play mod. the labor for porting may be $200, but you'll prob spend about another $2k on parts and labor for rebuilding your engine (i'm just guessing at the $2k...my engine cost $2500 - ported with new housings and shipped to me)

so my advice - save the porting til later. if your engine is in need of a rebuild, then definately think about it if you're considering getting a full exhaust system in the future.

I dont totally agree with that totally, it would depend how extreme your porting is. And mods outside the engine arent necessarily safe for the engine.
