17 is the overall best combo, then 16.

18 is overkill.

17 at max, personally I'd do 15's or 16's but like crazy wide 8 inch ****'s that'd be the best for contact patch and weight...remember 17's WILL slow you down.

Actually, that's too generalized a statement.&nbsp The stock 16" 1986-1988 Zenki turbo rims are ANCHORS!&nbsp There are tons of lightweight 17" rims available that will easily by lighter than the stock 16" rims, so you cannot say all 17" rims will slow you down...

I think 17s are just about perfect for the FC.

for 17 9 and 17 9.5 what offset would you need?
I want to run a 265 or 275 in the rear.

I didn't think 9.5's would fit either??? Duh....who's the *** with 9.5's it's probably a typo error or he failed to proof read his own posts!!!:embarrased: I'm so sorry guys but I meant 8.5" on the rear NOT 9.5". I can't understand why I didn't catch that earlier. Soul assassin, thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Absolutely true! However, a caveat to this statement would be: if you want a 17" rim/tire combo that is lighter than your stock combo -- it's going to cost [I]significantly [I]more than your average 17" setup. Running 17x8" chromies make the stock rims look like Ally McBeal!

That being said -- 17" are worth every penny! Look for names like Sparco, Kosei, and SSR. If you have enough cash to buy another daily driver but would rather have rims, look for Volk/Rays Engineering.

I had 17x7.5 and it looked great.
i had 235's in the rear and 225's in the front.
but the tires are shot so i have stockers on now.

but when i eventually get tires, im going 245 in the rear and 225 in the front.
and lower it a inch or so.

cant wait.

18's are just to big for these cars.

fc3s_gtr well, my setup is Enkei RP01 17x8 and 17x9 with Nitto NT555 Extreme 225/40ZR/17 and 255/40ZR/17. I've already got 2 of them in, the other two coming in this afternoon.
what offset are your Enkei RP01?
I just orderd my wheels
Enkei RP-F1
front:17X8 +35offset 5/114.3-5 & ADVAN A048 225/45-17(M)
rear:17X9 +35offset 5/114.3-5 & ADVAN A048 255/40-17(M)

If you have a vert. Stick with some nice 16, if not a vert, go 17. Also depends on what kind of suspension you are runnin' My vert has a slight suspension upgrade. (struts & tower brace) I have BBS 15's and P6000. It's great but a rather harsh ride. I like it. Passengers don't complain on short trips. T tried 16's and w/top up it rattled like a bitch. If you have a Discount tire in your area, experiment w/diff tires. Lots of different compounds out there. Just takes time to get the right combination.

I just got a set of 16" Enkei CDR9's, they look good but I've got a nasty gap. My car needs to go down an inch or two. My vote, 17's for looks, 16's for function. Anything bigger than 17 just looks goofy IMO.

my car isn't ready yet, it's in the shop right now getting fiberglassing the widebody kit on and putting MR2 vents on the rear widebody and 99' M3 fender inserts in front wide fenders, don't know how long i gotta wait, expected time is a month since fiberglassing takes time. plus i gotta get it painted orange and dump a load of gold pearls in it, so whenever i'm ready, i'll snap some pic and show it to the world....i really dont know what the hell am i doing here...

My talon had 18" Racing Hart C2 Evo's on it. The Turbo 2 is getting 17x8/17x9 Volk Racing GT-P's that should be here monday.

I just tried to have some new ADR's in 17x8.5 thrown onto some Yokohama's but it rubbed a bit, so I'm going to have to go with something else
