What should one offer for a 91 vert (bad motor)

Just went and looked at a 91 vert (black) 81k on the clock... I didnt go messing with the mototr and such, but he said before he parked it a year ago it wouldnt hardly start and it ran like total ****, (to the floor was like 40mph)

He said the rear rotor made the whoosshing sound, but the front rotor was nothing...

Well anyways the car has sat for a year under a tarp, everything looked really good, the interior is very clean, motor was very clean, has a spoiler and 16 in AR wheels... I didnt need the wheels for anything and told him if he had the factory ones, that would be fine. Also had an aftermarket Clarion CD player, amp, and 2 10 in JL aubs, I noticed tweets on the front doors too. But there again, I told him he could keep that stuff.

Well I offered him $500, he acted like that was an insult, but I got considering $2k for a motor and me doing the labor. Not to mention what else I might have to fix would be about right?

Suggestions?

Yeah $500-$750 for a 88 vert with blown motor sounds exactly right

yeah, with a '91, I personally would offer less than I would for a 88 or 89, just because of the airbag system.
