What should my coolant fill cap look like?

Should it be a "radiator cap" style device with the springs and low pressure sucker, or should it just be a flat cap with no "gadgets" under it?

It's currently a radiator style cap, which makes no sense, because there's nowhere for coolant to go (except leaking slightly overboard and sucking air in).

I've got a rad cap on my t-stat housing fill tube also, doesn't hurt anything as long as the outer gasket is sealing properly (might not be happening with you).

That way you're driving around with a spare rad cap, never know when you might need it!

It does no harm to use a pressure cap on the filler of an S4.
They are easier to get than a plain filler cap.
