Question I fixed my radiator!

So my radiator busted last week. It had a crack at the top and leaked coolant all over. I ordered and installed a new radiator, which worked fine when we first started it up, but a heater line started leaking. So I replaced that also. Then I changed the oil while it was up on stands. Now it appears to run fine.
As a new RX-7 owner, it was good to get to know my RX-7 by getting in the engine and fixing something. Just felt like sharing my experience.
And I have a question. The manual said that the oil capacity was 4.7 qts (oil pan) and 6.1 qts (full). Which capacity do you use to refill the oil after an oil change? 4.7 qts or 6.1 qts? I put 5 qts. in and the dip stick seems to say its full, but I just wanted to be sure. thanks

5 quarts is all you need.

Congrats. I'm a fairly new RX-7 owner and just got finished rebuilding my engine with some help from another forum member... talk about "getting to know your car." Heh.

I seem to recall mine took about 5 quarts too. Just put in 4, check the dipstick, and go from there.

Now I just need to finish tracking down my coolant leaks. First the heater hose was pissing (didn't tighten the clamp down enough), now my coolant fill cap is pissing...

The difference in oil volume is the 1+ quart that dosen't drain from the oil cooler when draining the engine.

BTW: The oil cooler is responsible for a big portion of total engine cooling.
