What Sealants and liquids to use when putting engine together?
I have some Blacish grey RTV sealant and Blue(medium) Locktite for my engine.
Just wondering if there is anythign else recommened or places I HAVE to place some on?
It's a TII short block and I've used the grey oil ok RTV on the oil pan already but haven't put everything back on the block.

Just to get the short block together right, not rebuilding the engine?
All I use is some blue, black and gray RTV. The locktite is also very smart. In all reality, any RTV would work fine for what you need, I just happen to have almost all the colors around because they are not that expensive.

Short Block is nothing more than the three iron housings, two rotor housing, e-shaft, and rotors. (It is the most people think of when they are talking about blocks) The long block is the short block plus all the accesories (e.g. Water pump, Air Pump, Power Steering...).

thanx
Just a note that in our engines we advise putting all of the gaskets on dry except for the oil pan..
Be very careful about RTV on the oil metering gasket, we had a guy use almost a full tube and cut the oil flow drastically -- Not sure why he used so much..

I just got a new Oring for my OMP so I am pulling the old one out with the RTV.
I placed a small amount of rtv on the outer edges of the seal.
Is there any differences between the red/blue/grey RV's??
Oh yeah The stuff I have is called Form a Gasket no drying stuff.
