intakes on the non turbos are a fast was to check if its a s4 or a s5. their completely different.
or the rotor housings. s4 do not have knock sensors, the s5 do also the s5 have different bumpers and front turn signals and the sexy rear brake lights.
i have a s4 convertible but im in the slow process of converting it to a s5.

check out my profile i have some pics of it all.

have fun and welcome to rx7club its the best forum for me it always answers my questions.

I believe I spent about 2 hours searching for my answers through the forums and came up empty handed so I figured I'd just post my question for a more speedy solution so I can better accurately search out other issues I'm having.

So far what I've got is a nightmare of an exhuast leak issue. I'm thinking about giving up on the manifold and it's flange and installing a header.

I've got a bad/loose ECU ground under the manifold causing my 38OO rmp stall and causing my radio to loose ground intermittently.

A vacuum hose leak SOMEWHERE that you can hear discharge when you shut off the engine.

Then when I've got my functioning affairs in order it's time to repair the damaged caused by running into a tree.

Sound like an/or a battery ground.

thanks Ryan for the help. I actually found that site already searching the forums. I cleaned several of the grounds a while back and it mostly fixed some other electrical I had going on. I fixed the ECU ground yesterday, but it didn't do anything with my hesitation. Pedal to the floor in every gear it gets to 3800 and the primaries cut back but the secondaries aren't coming on (i'm sure...haven't tested with LED). The car climbs passed 3800 but really slow; no boost. I found I missed the ground on the bottom of the shock tower. Going to clean that today and see what happens. Maybe adding a wire from the negative terminal directly to the ECU ground??

^ You should also verify operation of the 5/6 (or aux) ports.

I had the 3800 once on my vert, finally ended up sending the injectors to witchhunter to get cleaned, and it showed some of them had been clogged not giving enough fuel, worked fine when I got them back in the car. Not saying its your problem, but noone had mentioned it yet.

No kidding: cleaned all the grounds I could find under the hood, check connections, found a loose alternator belt, tightened it...nothing fixed it. Peeled out of an intersection to show my brother something (proving my dad's car isn't that fast...long story) suddenly the freakin injectors are coming on and working!!

I'm probably going to be posted a thread about this. I'm so confused! I have serious electrical gremlins all over this car!

I fixed my 3800 hesitation by changing the ground wire on the fire wall to the transmission. Not sure if will help you but thats what fixed mine...

The car already has the necessary added grounds to the system. It had one running directly from the battery to the UIM for some reason but I pulled it from that locating and placed it on the ECU ground under the UIM. It initially changed nothing even though it was also loose when I checked it. Then I had the day I peeled out of the gas station and the injectors started working. They aren't staying on permanently, they work intermittently and randomly.

I have started another thread for this: (describes all of my electrical issues and what I have come up with so far)

Well my car has transformed in the 2 years I've had it with the stock engine in it. So now the only hesitation I have is from idle to 3000 RPM and after that it pulls hard depending what gear I'm in and RPM range I'm at. If I went back to Vegas from California my car is a hell of a lot lower my car hates that altitude. I couldnt do over 115 in Vegas but I got it to 130 down here in Cali...

I'm no expert and nor do I really know this system. but from what I have been learning, my estimation on what you have may be related to your primaries not functioning properly, maybe not coming on all the way. Maybe your TPS is bad or you could even be having a problem with your pressure sensor or the mass air sensor.

There is a thread I ran into on the forums where someone was talking about hesitation before 3K, you might be able to find it.

Hope that helps.

S4 With a RB S5 Race Header no cat straight pipe 3" single exhaust, Cone Airfilter on my MAF. No Sleeves in my Aux. ports so I have to leave harder 2000 RPM to get rid of my hesitation problem TPS and MAF is good. I have no back pressure or low end torque. I have no problems in performance, besides needing a rebuild and car is basically good.

Again, I'm no expert on these cars at all. Lol...not really in a position to offer much here.

I have a lot to learn!!

No problem You'll learn, We all learn, different formulas work for different people. I love my super loud obnoxious exhaust the lack of bottom end torque and the car pulls like it has a turbo. Others like to have what ever torque they can pull from a Rotary, But When you get your car runnin the way you want it and it works for you, that is one of the greatest things in the word to me.
