its the oil metering pump connecting rod, it should be attached to the OMP at the bottom, the omp is the thing with the four bolts and hoses running to it. The rod often is connected but still feels loose, get a flash light and look good.

It needs to be connected, very important indeed.

Yeah, fixed my Idle, my o2 Readings, and Took the noise out of my Radio it was worth it all and all

 

theres a little play in the rod. pull the fan shroud and you have a clear shot

not to diverge from the original topic, but Did you try to fix the stock grounds w/ new wire before adding all of the extra wires or did you just do it all at once??

That rod enable oil to be delivered to your motor, very important to make it's connected and that the oil injector lines are in good shape...

 

you could always remove the washer and pin from the throttle end and just try to lightly pull up on it, if it comes out of the engine bay then it wasn't attached.

 

Yes i did, I replaced them all... Couldent locate the Problem. Bought the Kit.
Problem fixed.

Your RX7 is using motor oil to lubricate and cool parts exposed to the combustion of the fuel-air mixture, so I wouldn't go driving around if it's disconnected unless your premixing your gas with 2 stroke oil...

 

i was thinking about useing the 2 stroke.... was not to sure what kind... but i just startid acting odd on my way back from Miami... so i went to checking things. noticed i hadent Burnd a Drop of oil sence leaving

 

Odd as in you would seem to loose compression?

That would be the omp not working.

And as for the premix, that info is all around this forum.

 

well as of recently, i would Give it some gas, and the car would feel like it's Loosing Gas or Spark or somthing... my A/F meter Falls off the scale when it happends...
But i donno if that has anything to do with the OMP

I can drive it fine so far. But if i push the pedle half way down or more wile its gettting around 4-6K Rpm... inbetween that it will buck and act like its loosing Fuel or Spark... it may be relatid to the pump

 

OMP would be my guess.

With the OMP not be attached, I think something bad would happen to your motor within a week. Have you worked on the car recently?

 

no, But it would seem its hook'd up.
So im thinking the Injectors are Gunkd or somthing.
I mix'd 2 stroke with it... car runs like its Brannew....
