what is required for motor to run properly

I am turning an 88 FC3S into a track car and eleminating everything that is not necessary for the car to run correctly. Does anyone know if the Air pump is required for the engine to run correctly or can it be removed? Also does anyone know of a company to get engine wiring harnesses for the 13b? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sorry for not searching well enough. I already have two wiring harnesses and two motors for the car what I am looking for is a company that will go thru and redo the wiring harness with only what is required for the motor to run properly.

ooo you mean strip the harness for only the wires you need???? dude its very time consuming a friend of mine did it to his 3rd gen and wow took him a long time haveing to ut open the harness and take ouch each wire by hand neways its not worth the aggrevation if you want just go standalone if its going to be an all out track car...

Yeah that is exactly what I am wanting. I have the whole car stripped down except for pulling the motor for cleaning the engine bay. I am making my own harness for the lights, wipers and anything else needed for the body electronics. A stand alone is a good idea, I will check into that. The car is going to be a track car, used for drifting and some drag race and road race, but I will be keeping the lights to allow me to drive to local events. Thanks for your response.

as I am probably about to learn the hardway this afternoon while figuring out why my car wont run anymore, the stock harness isnt all that reliable after 18 years. If you're tracking your car a standalone would be best, a) for the new harness, b) for reliable sensors, c) for datalogging.

what standalone do you recommend? I have always raced and built V8's with carbs other than minor stuff like intake and exhaust with imports and factory motor swaps so I am trying to learn some of the high performance and aftermarket equipment available for the imports.
