What to replace when replacing stock turbo?
Hey guys, tried searching/googling this but didn't find a great answer.
I've never replaced a turbo. Therefore I'm not sure what, gasket/oil line etc, I need to replace or what I should replace to get the job done right the first time.
Any help is appreciated. Got an 89 t2 by the way.

exhaust gaskets (manifold and downpipe)
oil line gaskets (inlet and outlet of turbo, maybe the gasket for the drain on the engine if you take the whole line off)
new copper crush washers for coolant banjo bolts on turbo
new gasket for coolant line on lower intake manfiold
new coolant hoses for turbo to water pump housing line
maybe new o-rings for lower intake manifold to block coolant connection (this requires you to take both upper and lower intake manifold off so you'd probably need to replace those gaskets too)

replace empty six pack with full ones..(*seriously!)
But EAGE8 brings up a good point of the lower manifold O rings As they break down with heat and I have encountered a couple threads pertaining to leaks due to those pesky little rubber "O's"!.
It leaves a nice pool of coolant on top of your engine.

Then do not try to make up for that all in one go!
It's really not all it's cracked up to be.

Thanks Gross. I'm probably missing that hose anyway. The Guy who I got the car from had it somewhat pulled apart and I still gotta find some of the stuff to put it all back together.
No yea I know. I've never been interested in drinking heavily. Now I could see a little rum and Arizona tea or some wodka and Sprite everyone in awhile... Not that I have done that before. I mean the law says I can't and the US gov't is sooo much smarter than every other gov't right?
