I'll take your FC off your hands and won't charge you my normal FC disposal fee, that way you won't have to hurt yourself.

BTW, killed my headlight switch tonite. You have to smack it to get the interior lights to come on, but the stops still work... hmmm... it did this once before and I thought I had it solved.

Got rear ended tonight in my vert.
Came outside from being at a movie with my dad (christmas eve) and come to find out sombody left me a present consisting of a smashed the hell up trunk lid, pushed back into the car trunk, and a nice broken drivers side taillight assembly.

No note though, so i'm pretty sure it wasn't from santa, but sombody i'm guessing some rich bitch in an suv backed into me. Now that's great, just freakin great. i am moving to arizona on monday so it couldn't have come at a better time. GRRRR

WHAT THE HELL PEOPLE?! IT IS CHRISTMAS AND YOU HIT AND RUN MY CAR?

it's probably a good thing i'm moving otherwise i'd use all of my connections to find out who the hell hit my car. then i would get angry with them and insult their mother IN PUBLIC.

Yeah this kind of **** sure pisses me off and certianly isn't in line with the holiday spirit.

I hate stupid ******* hit and run suv drivers...
Matt

BTW i'm estimating at least 1k-1.3k's worth of damage, including slight rear suspension damage.

THAT'S why i have full coverage.

Mother ffer *grumble grumble*

Damn, that sucks. I forgot to mention that the winter is making the clock act flaky. Damn, I thought I was exempt from wiring problems.

Nothing broken on mine. Of course, I don't drive it very much so it doesn't have much chance to break. And most of the parts that typically break are in the dumpster anyway.

Nothing broken yet. However my rear suspension did stop squeaking when we had a nice cold snap, and hasn't started up again even though we've had some warmer weather since.

My parking brake has frozen a couple times this season, so I'm searching for a "new" one, or try to rig this one to not freeze.

actoually the cold has fixed my leaking rear caliper
I assume the fluid is too thick to leak out of wherever it was, so I dont have to refill it every day
I really need a new caliper.. lol

Other than that, nothing has gone wrong yet *knocks on wood*

Yep, I have the same thing with my GXL 89. After the first hard freeze the brake idiot light will stay on until the temp outside gets around 30 F. On warm days the light acts normal. I had a similar problem with my old Ford Escort. Yes I owned the modern Model T :-) Once water got into an area of the breaking system it would freeze and not allow the sensor to release. Spent some good bucks before I found a honest mechanic that told me there was little he could do about it.
Unless someone with more experiance says otherwise I am going to assume this is a harmless glitch from the cold.

Another fun one is with the shoulder belt. The door button sticks in the cold and once the detection system gets confused the belt stays in the up closed door postion until the car is completly turned off and restarted. Once again when the car warms up the problem goes away.

It is going to be a fun winter of Driving in Colorado :-)

I've had the same problem with my brake light last winter. Other than that the winter cannot take my FC!

My driver's side door will now not unlock from the outside. The lock looks like it is broken, so i have to unlock it from the passenger side to get in.

And when its ~20 degrees, my seat belt idiot light blinks too.

Common, our locks SUCK. I got new ones from mazda last year, $52 a piece I believe and came w/ 2 keys per lock.

I'm not driving IN snow so hopefully things will be fine. I do try to drive her every 1-2 weeks on a dry day so the car doesn't just sit (a good 15-20 minute drive).

I have a small rust hole in the drivers rear wheel well at the pinch weld that I'm gonna fix next week I believe. We've got a good welder (machine/person) at the shop and I got the metal (18 gauge sheetmetal) and seam sealer/undercoating for the job.

The spot is maybe 2 inches and I'm sure once ground down the rot will be more apparent. I think it's a fairly common area for the car to rust and I believe the hatch drain is the culprit...the drain hose had a small tear allowing a bit of water to sit in this area...probably for years.

I plan to clean then cut about 8 inches out, stitch weld every inch or so and cover seams w/ sealer then undercoat it all. Rails are spotless, floor had one spot that was already fixed over the summer and I just replaced ALL the metal fuel line from the tank to the motor in the fall. Hopefully, I shouldn't have to worry about any rust for many many many years Zero rust on the outside body panels and the other wheel well is spotless

For everyone who has an FC and lives in areas that fall below freezing, buy a small bottle of WD40 and spray alot of it into the door keys and the locking mechanism that holds the door shut. It was so bad for me the first day the temp drop, that people were looking at me like if I was stealing my car because I was desperately trying to get in with no luck. When I finally got in, through the passenger door, the door wouldn't even hold shut. I had to drive holding the passenger door till I got home. Now no problems with WD40 the stuffs great!
