if I am not mistaken, that's the cold startup connector, and it enables the system which causes your engine to rev to 3000 RPM for the first 10 seconds or so when you start it cold (not in a cold climate, just 'cold' like not run that day)

as far as replacing it, it's up to you, but most people actually disable this 'feature' of the FC
can someone confirm this?

If it is a solid beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep, it could indicate low oil level. If your add coolant light isn't working, it could be that. Beep-beep-beep is from ignition issues or speedo not registering when tach is pulling revs (or tach not reading when speedo is dialing up). Then there is the "just cuz" buzzer that goes off from time to time...

When does it beep?, and is it a solid tone or what? You'll have to provide more information...

To be sure check the coolant level, 'cause maybe the warning light is burnt out
