I've been in numerous FC's and only one stopped working, and that was because of a bad logicon in an '88 vert.

I think the AC system on the S5s is pretty durable assuming it hasn't been sitting so long for parts to have seized due to non-use. I had the AC recharged in my '90 GTU in the summer of 1997 and it still blew very cold until about 2006. It was still working but probably finally ready for another freon recharge when I gave the car away in June of 2007.

I bought my 88 SE new in 1989 and recharged the AC in about 1999 and its still cold. I've never heard of a RX7 that had a bad AC system, maybe the stupid design on the logicon but not the AC system. They're bulletproof.
