What is this O-Ring?
I've had this O-ring from my rebuild kit forever and ever, and now that I'm about to pull my transmission and replace my clutch, I want to find out of it's the stationary gear o-ring that I never replaced (but clearly should have).
It's black, round, and about 3 1/2 to 4 inches in diameter... is this the o-ring I want?
I'm planning on replacing the rear seal and this O-ring... you can buy the seals in local stores but I don't think you can get the o-ring, so I've got my fingers crossed.

A good hydraulic shop can get you the o-ring, but you may have to bring the stationary gear to size it.
It goes without saying that with the rear stationary gear removed, the engine should not be allowed to rotate.
