The part I'm pointing too is sealed, on my other rx7 this metal part popped off with grease when I took it apart. when it's together I assume pressure of them being bolted together is enough to keep it from leaking. Is this okay or should it be sealed at all times?

For reference, the piece to the left goes into the differential housing. Thanks.

Yeah, the popped off version with grease every where is the incorrect one.

I never had one come apart, but I would presume that once bolted back together that it would be sealed up, and you wouldnt have any problems. If this is wrong someone feel free to correct me.

SoloIIdrift: If youd like I have a good N/A axle, $30 shipped if you want it.

Thanks, but I already have a set of N/A axles, the ones that are leaking are the TII ones.

Anyone else have this problem?

Did the cap just fall out and grease leaked out? Or is it leaking from the cap?

My tII did the same thing, cap fell off. How much ended up coming out? If it was an excessive ammount, i'd repack them, put the cover on and have at it. However, in my case very little came out, so I just put it back on (made sure no debris got in there) and had at it.

Cool, yeah not much came out, so I guess I can just repack it and put it back together. The stuff in there now looks like mud...

That's how mine looked, I was a bit worried. It was extremely runny, so I cleaned it all out and repacked it and went on my way.

There is nothing wrong with the above picture. I have had to unbolt my axles from the part that goes into the differential numerous times. There is nothing wrong there. That round sealed piece is supposed to look that way.

As for the inside. Looking like mud is okay. It's the grease packing that is used inside CV (constant velocity) Joints.

If it really bothers you, you can clean it out and go down to Autozone and get the new blue/black color. But, I don't see it really making much of a difference.
