what mods really work (all about numbers here)

I know there are countless threads about differant mods that we fc people do however I was wondering wich ones actually produce real power??? Reted just made me think about all the money I've put into my car and how much horse power I"m going to have and is all the money I spent doing this well worth it or was there alot of "wasted mods". Can we get a list of what really works mod wise to our cars n/a or turbo??? If this has been done before please provide a link I couldn't find one.

Alot of mods don't necessarily add power. Just make the car run better.

The problem is that your engine will not necessarily respond the same as another person's engine even though they are exactly the same.
There are too many variables to consider when calculating power output.
We can only offer estimates on average power gains.

This might or might not apply to you.

Add to the fact that combining several mods at one time will also affect the final power output.
Some mods work well better when done at the same time.
For example, an exhaust + intake swap will probably make more power than an intake upgrade + boost contoller.
We can't possibly go into every single combination of mods you can do - that's asking for too much.

Oh yeah, and if you haven't seen my From-Mild-To-Wild Power section, it's all in there.

from-mild-to-wild huh???? Ok I"ll have to check that out. But I guess what I'm getting at is what are the common upgrades you here of like tb, tid, fuel pump rewire, etc... out of all these mods witch ones will be felt by the but dyno (nice power gain) to ones that you could spend alot of money on but don't produce. Now I'm speaking in general here, what works well with the 7 period. Thanks ted again I'll look at your thread.

edit: hey ted I just did a search for that and couldn't find it.

It's not a thread, it is an article on his site www.fc3spro.com

He has a from mild to wild power and suspension article that goes stage by stage from average upgrades to completely hardcore. It's a very good article, I have both the suspension and power ones printed out for future reference.

As for what you're asking about. It sounds like you're specifically talking about the easy mods that rx7 owners do like TB mod, fuel pump rewire and such. What will be felt the most as far as power? Most of these aren't for more power, but for your car to work better. The TB helps with boosting for turbo applications, the fuel pump rewire is so you don't run lean and blow your engine, and so forth. Each of them have a "purpose" that you should've come accross when researching them in the first place.

As far as power upgrades go, generally good things are full exhaust, intake, porting, hybrid turbo, ebc, lightweight flywheel, fmic for lower intake temps, etc etc etc the list is way too long to list everything, but you get the idea.

yeah I guess I gave bad examples when I said fuel pump rewire ( I knew I should have put that ) I'm just talking about for example the other day I made a cai for my car 88TII and I'm not quite sure it will work (I"m going to test it when I get my boost controller) but it would be nice if there was a thread that would state specificaly for a newb what to try and what not because it's simply a waste of time and money.

oh yeah and I've seen that I think with the differant stages of preformance mods, I believe I. - VII.
