Mine went at about 137,000km.

Of course it was due to boosting to 12psi. Dam downpipe

Doesnt smoke, passed emissions as the cleanest car in my family with no tricks in the tank other than sonoco 94 octane (1997 Subaru Impreza, 2000 Celica GT)

It didn't get far beyond that 112mi mark before it was so low on compression that I quit driving it.

Talking RE, How many miles???

87 N/T, 250,000, Never had the ATF treatment, just oil changed,20/50 Castrol every 3,000, quality filter, kept tuned, It`s never missed a beat. I`ve never done a compression test, but it starts easy every time and runs great!!! Pedal down!!!!!

108,000 and still booooooosting...

ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssswhooooooooshhhhh!!! !!!!

my 88 TII has 108,000 miles and she is still boosting very strong and idles perfect. i think the key is oil/spark plug changes on time, coolant flush at least once a year and redline her every now and then to break up any carbon build up.

im hopin i can get at least 160,000 and by the looks of this thread im gonna get there.

gotta love these cars!!!!!!

I bought my 88 T2 w/ 118,xxx on it, ran it to 125,xxx then the engine caught on fire I'm sure I could have gone more if I'd replaced the stupid faulty PD. oh well...

Talking Good to hear...

Hey all,

I have a 89 TII with 63k miles on it. Still running. It's good to know that other 89TIIs are going over 100k miles on the original engine. I don't plan on running mine about 10-11 pounds of boost anyways.

Cheers,

/F.

My first was a new 90 GTU. Original engine went 230,000 before I had to replace with a re-built. Exceptional car! I put out of its misery at 325,000. All that time... one clutch, one drive shaft, 4th gear replaced in tranny, several brake pads, left muffler, LCD,s on Clarion radio. Absolutely everything else was original and no mods. Oil changed every 1,500 mi., tranny/dif changed at 15K, plugs/tune every 12K. No other maintenance. Michigan car junked due to major initially hidden rust from road salt.

Recently replaced with a '90 GXL with 93K and runs like a dream. Will do same maintenance but now add Prolong every other oil change.

My 89 GXL had 160,000 miles on it when i trade it in. It ran pretty decent for the mileage, I.E. i dont think it needed a rebuild, YET. Still kicking myself in the *** for getting rid of it, though
My 88 10th Anniversary has 120,800 miles on it. Runs descent but it is probally in need of a rebuild.
