What metal are the doors made out of?

Simple question.

What metal are the doors made out of? Reason being is I am thinking about removing the side molding. So, I'm trying to decide whether to just fill the space or actual weld/sand over the area. (If I'm really nuts, I can get carbon fiber doors made,...but that isn't something that I'm considering at the moment).

use a mig welder or your going to blow a hole through the metal. The magnet trick is not so, if it sticks is because the metal has carbon in it,even if its alumium or stainless steal the mag will stick. If you see something that says stainless put a mag to it and see if it will stick, because I promise you one of the items is going to stick because of the carbon!!!

Don't magnets stick to ferrous metals like Iron? And if they stick to carbon then wouldn't magnets stick things like carbon fiber?

magets will never stick to aluminum. they will stick to stainless and any other iron, nickle, or cobalt based metal, aswell as a few other metals that are a little rarer in automotive applications

Austenetic Stainless Steel (400 series) is mildly magnetic. 300 series is not. Aluminum is NEVER magnetic, but thanks for making me laugh....
