What material can i use to make a hatch cover?

What material can i use to make a hatch cover? I am thinking of making a hatch cover for my 86 fc. I was thinking what kind of material i can use. I am going to home depo to check it out tomorrow. I am just wonder if any one has made one or have pic of a orginal one. I need a materal that wont sag or melt under the sun. THanks in advance!! I did search in the inter forum by the way.

hardened sheet of carbon fiber... with hinges riveted on so you can lift it and stuff. I've done the same thing with plexiglass though

Some cardboard, Then cover it in the same colored fabric as your interior. Of course I'm just saying this because my black leather and FULL interior are already where they need to be.
