What is this link and where can I get two?

Both of these little links are loose on my FC, they cause the wheels to have about maybe a half inch total of play. I called the Mazda dealer here in Charlottesville (Flow Mazda), and they said it was called the Lateral link, but after a couple searches on here, the lateral link looks like it's the one with the two tie rod things on each end, right? So what is this smaller link called, and where can I pick up a couple of them?

EDIT: This is on the REAR control arm, Lol. Sorry.

Try mazdatrix as well. I can't view the auction, is it the same thing as the "rear camber link"? (bottom of the mazdatrix page)

It is, but Mazdatrix wants 180 for two, plus shipping. I got those two on ebay for 21$ shipped. Lol...

You're getting them for $20 because they are used. Be sure and get some replacement bushing for those since you are swapping them in anyway.

The only reason I got the used ones is because I can't FIND the bushings available anywhere, do you know where I can get them?

Rear Lower Control Arm Bushing Kit
Where those links go, that's the rear lower control arm I believe.

I don't see them listed on mazdatrix's website, but call them and ask. You should be able to get them. Worst case, you can't and have to buy the whole damn set new.

Edit: Beaten. Yeah, those are it. I was thinking "camber link" not "control arm". Woops.

I don't think that's the same thing, the rear lower control arm bushings are something different. They don't have bushings listed for the rear camber link.

I'd call or e-mail and ask to be sure, though.

edit: I too was beaten regarding call and ask.

Yeah, but it's not the control arm bushings I'm trying to replace, it's the bushing IN The link. Which I do not see anywhere on that page.

Ah my bad, then yeah, they probably don't offer that part. Looks like you'll have to get brand new ones.

If you end up having to buy new ones you might opt for MMR like he said ^^^ or AWR individual camber links. Mazdatrix sells AWR types with grease zerks added, but they're a bunch more money. I use the AWR ones and I like them, on old suspension it's not a bad idea to have anyway so your camber can be adjusted to compensate. In stock form the FC doesn't have rear camber adjustment, so if it's out of whack you'll be chewing up tires and won't be able to do a damn thing about it except get, you guessed it, adjusters (there's also a center link you can get that allows rear camber adjustment, but it affects both sides at the same time instead of individually, I got both the center link and the individual links to make sure I didn't have any trouble getting it aligned properly).

Don't do it. They break. Both the MMR and AWR.

Lastly, the stock links don't have bushings. They have pillow ***** (spherical bearings). Not available separately.

^ ive had mine for about a year and there fine, i think that the reason they snap is becasuse ppl dont change the lateral sub link to an adjustable one when they change these... they put stress on the small links and cause them to snap....

Yeah I've had my AWR set plus the lateral link for at least two years, no problems so far aside from them starting to rust. The real test will be this summer when I get my 9" wide tires.

Give it time - they will break.

The reason has nothing to do with the subframe link. It has everything to do with the fact that both AWR and MMR eliminated one degree of freedom when they designed their links, putting the bolt / rod end threaded portion in torsion as the suspension moves.

I just ordered them from the local Mazda dealer last winter when I rebuilt my entire rear suspension. I think they were about $100 Canadian each. Not really that hard to find.
