what is this line for?

so i crawled under my car im workin on, to find 1 my TII starter wasnt there lol, and 2 theres a steel pipe line that comes down from the motor and i think its supposed to bolt onto the cat, i traced it up to teh motor and it comes to the top left of the motor, next to the firewall. sorry i didnt have my cam to take pics, but im sure you all know about it lol. just wondering if its important, if i need to replace is seeing i dont have any form of exhaust yet, can i block it off? ect. thanks for the response!

Connects to the LIM. It is there to direct air from the air pump down to the cat. If you have removed your ACV and/or the air pump, it does nothing.

agreed, it is the split air pipe...but you really should keep better track of your starter...i would suggest one of those red harnesses that horrible parents use to tie up their children
