What kind of preformance can i expect?

Ok. I am interested in getting an NA soon and had a question. An 89 GTU NA goes 0-60 in about 7.6 and the quarter mile in 16. Now if I were to redo the entire exhaust from the headers back and do a few other things like get new injectors and fule pump what kind of preformance could I expect (realisticly)? Would I be able to hit 14's and go 0-60 in the high 6's?

Nope

Youd need some porting to hit mid 14's along with some other stuff. There are some other people who will give you better advice than me though, but youll find that most people will just tell you to get a t2.

well if you go with the full exhaust and fuel upgrades i would say mid to low 15's possibly, depends on the driver too. A full exhaust will only net you about 20hp depending on what kind you get.

Ok, I was just curious about how fast I could get. I really don't want a turbo cuz I don't have the money nor time for it (i will be going to college next fall.)

I know how you feel man. Although i plan on turbo-ing my GTU soon. I already have the turbo i just need some other parts that i dont have money for Hopefully it will be done by the end of 2003. I plan to enlist the help of Don Marvel as many of my friends have suggested i talk to him about it. So in conclusion good luck with your car now that you know my life story heh

Here are my mods:

Headers
anti-cat
K&N intake
porting to all intake components (except engine)
Tuned to be running perfectly
driver skills

My times? I can beat a pre 1999 mustang GT, Integra GS-R BPU, and other comparable cars... this would *suggest* a low 15 ET time with a low 9x mph trap speed.

But on the track or auto-x, only the best cars can keep up w/me

I think that 89 up cars will not see the 14s on a stock engine 86 is your best year to see the 14s base models and sports have aluminum hoods and no sunroof and of course no power anything so the weight was saved and 2646 is the magic number my friend took out miscelaneous things here and there and ran a 14.6 with about every mod you could do. its not common to run 14s but its not to hard to do
