at the very top, first picture what the hell is the brass thing coming out of the throddle body? it looks like an actuator of some sort, what does it do, ive asked 4 rx7 owners and none of em know. mine has been removed and capped thats why i ask.

i think its the thorrtle thingie,

like it keeps the gas pedal from going instantly closed,

it lets it fall to like 10% throttle then it slowly lets it fall back to 0% thorrtle..

From the picture, it looks like your talking about the secondary set of secondary butterflys. There supposted to close when the engine cold to keep you from beating on the engine when cold. Once its warmed up it will open up and let the car rev up high.
If yours is removed, then the prevous most likely preformed the throttle body mod.
