What the hell?!?! Ongoing saga

Please forgive my disjointed rambling. This morning, I'm getting no power from the car. Engine revs fine in driveway, with a slight "shake" around 1500 RPM. Car seems extra loud. When I start driving, Car revs to around 2000, then bogs and doesn't want to get out of it's own way. Ran tach up to 4000, no increase in speed. HELP!

No check engine light. But the car backfires on decel. I know there has been a small exhaust leak. I'm wondering if the leak has worsened.

The turbo has had a bit of an oil leak and is about to be replaced. I suppose it's possible that it gave up the ghost finally, but I don't know if that would cause the symptoms I'm having. Is that just wishful thinking?

The way things have been going with this beast, Hurricane Ernesto will blow the damn thing into my neighbor's house and I'll have to pay to tow the broken car out of his living room.

Anybody? Really hope I'm not looking at a blown motor here. Any input would be very welcome.

I had one like that. It would rev fine in the driveway. Even up to 7K rpm. Once I tried to move forward, there was no power. Could not climb a moderate hill.

Turned out to be the front rotor... rebuild time.

You need to perform a compression test ASAP to determine if you have experienced a seal failure. If the compression test is fine, you can breathe easier and start looking for the problem.
