What happens when you buy an FC with a "blown" engine ?

Update
I was driving the car on short trips for the last month, even though it wouldn't idle by itself. I double checked everything, redid the timing, adjusted all main sensors (TPS, CAS, etc.) but still had no luck getting it to idle.
So, I took the car in to check the compression today with the Mazda tester, and got the following results:
8.5 front rotor, and
2.5 rear rotor
That explains it
Now it makes sense why I am still able to drive it around and to your surprise actually feels pretty quick above 3k RPMs.
Now I'm going to swap a good engine from my 86 into the 88 and save the 86 for parts or a project, don't know yet for sure.
