You won't hurt a rotary putting in too much oil, it just has a pretty good chance of sloshing up the fill tube and into the positive "crankcase" ventilation system (if you still have that).

In a TII you could end up blowing alot of oil out the turbo and *posssibly* damaging the turbo seals if the oil level is above the turbo drain and impedes oil flow out of the turbo.

Many rotary racers run a quart "high" to prevent oil starvation with high cornering forces. The factory race pan with its extra 2 quart capacity and a "baffle" plate is a better solution.

OMP gets pressurized oil from the front stationary gear bearing oil passage and has no return line, so it would be unaffected.

However, if the oil level is really high I suppose the front counter weight would splash through it thus aerating the excessively. This would decrease the oiling system efficiency and could cause problems if the engine was pushed really hard.
