Okay, I took the BAC off my S4 TII and found some strange stuff wedged between the valve and seat. It looks a bit like insulation, or similar.
What the fo could that be? Looks like someone got part of their sleeve sucked into the air pump or somethin'.

Here're some pix if you're interested

Look at BACGunk1.jpg and BACValveGunk.jpg

Any ideas what it is, where it came from and what effect it would have on my engine?

Not part of gasket. Could be cat-fur, though. Seriously, it has structure and texture like a tuft of insulation. Like, maybe, from the hood.

Okay. After I said that, I got to thinking. The hood insulation above the left side of the engine is kind of raggedy. So, I tore a small piece off, and wouldn't you know....it's exactly the same.
So, that's where it came from. New question is how the hell did it get *inside* the BAC valve?

Maybe more importantly, where else could it be? AND, what else could it be doing?

*sheesh*
