what external wastegate mods are there for stock s5 turbo

I'm getting an external tial 38mm wastegate basically for free and want to figure out what the options are for using an external wastegate on the stock turbo, series 5.

My stock wastegate is shot (bad flapper door arm bushing), so I'm trying to set myself up with something nice since I have have the option.

What are the best methods to do it, are there any easy ways?

I've read about divorcing the hotside and all that, is that the only way?

I've seen a couple things that seem to work.

Blue turbo 2 setup basically tapped each runner and collected at the wastegate.

It's not worth the trouble. I would either find a good used turbo, or find a turbo shop that will do what I posted on your other post.

Have your turbo rebuilt.

I have parts to a bnr stage 1 copy a that I plan on using with an s5 assembly once I get my hands on one, I also am looking into finding a good hot side to swap onto mine so I will have minimum downtime.

I'll probably port the snot out of the dual wastegates as well.

I still like the idea of a external wastegate and you're right , it's a major pain in the keester to do it, I really want to though on my stage 1 bnr , are there any possible aftermarket exhaust manifold options for the stock turbo so u can easily hook up an external wg?

You will spend more money on the WG that it is worth. Save the money for a real turbo upgrade and what goes along with it.

Take some time and read through this.

Yeah that will be way down the road , my Hp goal is 270-320 whp and that's easily attainable on a bnr turbo, though I'm sure a full upgrade will have much better response /powerband.

I'm reading about needing to upgrade the oil bypass at higher hp levels , sounds like pain in the butt to do with the engine in.
