asv, sap, szs the block off plates have these abbrev.

Those are not normal FC abbreviations

I figured thats what the ASV means...but it should be called ACV, as its not exactly a solenoid...

asv is "air supply valve" as per the Manual

SZS is "sub zero start" As best as that sucker could be described

it was on my car....
although i couldnt never tell when it worked or didnt .... i KNOW in fact it did because when i owned the 7 before i would come on here the owner told me to keep it full..every now and again i would have to refill it....i couldnt tell when exactly it was "injecting antifreeze" now that its out thier is absolutely no difference from when it was installed and functional....

well it was never on any California spec cars, and Mazda went and sent out a TSB saying to remove it on the 49 state models when the car came in for service.

For the record, Mazda calls it the Sub-Zero Start Assist system, and it was only fitted to US FC's (except California).

All the other countries the FC was sold in use metric measurements, so it would have to have been called the Sub-Minus-Sixteen Start Assist system.
