what does the plug under the vent control go to? it is 2 white plugs with orange and black wires going to them. there was also a light bulb socket in there with these. none of them were hooked up to anything

A 158 bulb. Very common. The socket then goes into a hole beside the shaft of the lighter receptacle. It can be a bitch to get it in - hope you have small fingers. The light is meant to illuminate the inside of the ashtray.

As for those two plugs... dunno. Look at the FSM.

 

i know what the socket for the buld is that goes into the lighter. next to that though there was two plugs with orange and black wires and another light socket with no bulb in (which works perfect for my new gauge faces
