what does fc mean?

Nothing that I know of. Just a model designation in the VIN number.

FC stands for 2nd generation rx7, from 1986-1992.
This is derived from the VIN number, which has FC3 as the 4th,5th,and 6th letters of every 2nd gens.
1st gens have FB3, and as you can guess.... 3rd gens have FD3
