FC refers to the VIN number of 2nd generation RX-7s from 86-91.

FD refers to the VIN number of the 3rd generation RX-7s from 93-95.

FC is the abbreviated version of the 2nd Gen's chassis code, which is FC3S or FC3C for the Convertible.
