what do you turbo II owners shift at?
i was curious to know what everyone shifts at on the turbo II's. i own a 88 turbo II. im in the procces of building a street ported motor because the motor in it has just about had it. i heard usaully people shift at around 7500rpms. what do you guys shift at on your turbo II's.
Are we talking about normal driving?
If drag racing, I short-shift 1st to 2nd, cause the gear difference is too wide for a redline shift - it'll reward you with a nice singing of the gears. Everything else can be redlined, but the engine doesn't make that much more torque up there. You want to be able to shift and have the revs drop down into the "meat" of the torque peak for best acceleration.

Terrh has gone my exact pattern dead on!!!
1 -> 2: 5500
2 -> 3: 6500
3 -> 4: redline
4 -> 5: redline
This is only when racing... I drive normal on the streets... I don't need tickets!
