Holley Fuel Pump

Friend is trying to install a new Holley 97GPH fuel pump, but can't find a diagram for the install. I have searched, but have come across nothing. Need to get a wiring diagram, or anything that can help. Going in a 89 GTUs. Thanks.

a wiring diagram for a fuel pump??? There are only two wires... a positive and a ground.

And is that pump for Fuel injection? What is the PSI? Needs to be at least 70 PSI

Yeah, just need to get it to run. Cause instead of the four original wires for the wiring harness of the fuel injection pump, and 2 (red and black wiring) for the carb fuel pump. Just need to know how to go about getting it to run now. For some reason, seemed to be stumped, and haven't been able to come across anything to work.

There are only two wires on the fuel pump. The other wires you are confusing are the sender wires...

Just making sure you know that pump will not run a fuel injection system... not even close to enough pressure to even use a fuel injector.

Once again, its not running a fuel injection system, its been switched to a carbuerated system.

Not sure I follow you. The stock FC fuel pump is also a 2 wire unit. Unless it was a multiphase AC motor, it's going to have 2 wires.

Now, you are probably talking about the two extra wires for the fuel level sender and fuel warning light. Leave those alone. You can follow the two fuel pump wires down through the mounting flange and use those. From memory, the black w/red is ground and the blue w/red is +12V on the harness.

There is only a red and a black wire for the holley fuel pump. It isn't for a fuel injection system, but instead for a carbuerated system

Here is the wiring from the original fuel injection pump. We are trying to use the power lead to run the holley.

Red on the Holley is +, black is ground.

Match that up with the wires I gave you on the harness. But as I said, that was from memory.

Why not just use a voltmeter to find the switched 12V and then ground to the body? This is really elementary...

Pull the stock pump out and look at the wires going to it.

You will only see two wires attached to the stock fuel pump.

You will use those two. Black to black.

again, as I posted earlier:

Alright, seem to be getting somewhere from here. See what we'll be able to do, and get back to you.

If this is on a Zenki car, you can't do that ask you've probably pulled the stock AFM.

You really should run all new wiring with a dedicated relay triggered by the "IG1" lead off the ignition switch.  The IG1 lead goes hot when the key is both at ON and CRANKING.

Cranking IS turning over. If the engine is rotating, it is "turning over", so I assume you are trying to say that it won't run...

Well, does the fuel pump run? Are you getting fuel to your carb? How about spark? Carbs are dreadfully easy, so if you have fuel and spark, and the ratio is somewhere in the ballpark, then it should run.
