i've seen a few of these in the FS section within the past couple days. Im interested to learn more about the springs (how well do they perform? can you change them out?)

with better shocks they might not be that bad....but, in the integra world (yes, i have an integra as a daily driver) most people steer well clear of those.
I would probably suggest only Ground Control for slip on coilovers kits based on durability and reputation.
good luck, have fun

my suggestion if you plan to do any sort of racing with your car, i wouldnt bother with these, the cheapest way to go would be to get a decent strut and shock setup and get some eibach slipons. at least then you can get a custom spring rate. but the setup is going to run you almost 700, and you are still not going to have camber adjustablity. best bet is to just save your pennies and get a good set of real coilovers like jics, i have the flta-2 and i love them

Yea but that guy has 4 posts and doesn't have any idea how Grammer and the English language work together to make fluent sentences.
IE:
i put a set of $50 coilovers off a 240 on my buddys rx7 and it rides great and real low. not too bounce but nice and stiff

i have a set and they are really stiff. they WORK just fine, havent had any problems or excessive noise or squeaking. i am using them with kyb agx shocks. if i had to do it over again i would have saved for coilovers

so it looks like people who have used them seem to like them, does adjusting them do much for handling like real coilovers do or is it just for looks with these?

dont even waste your cash. you can find the same kit for 20$ on other sites like driverfx i think but i ordered them for my old mx6 and they were horrible. they were extremely bouncy and the springs were too short. i would either bottom them out or the strut would extend fully and i would have no spring at all. plain horrible. spend that benjamin somewhere else

stevensimon, your struts were obviously bad then. If it extended all the way out or bottomed out, they def. needed replacement.
As for the handleing aspect, they are pretty firm, but adjusting them doesnt really change that at all, basically just for looks.

i guess what im really asking is would they handle as good as a regular strut spring combo? like the tiens for example
and any one who has them, whats the total drop range? can the car sit stock hight and then when you lower it what does it get down to

Looking at them and all the other auctions for these style coilovers, they are universal. The spring rates do not appear to be vehicle specific or take in consideration the load. If all you are going for is the look and you don't mind a car that rides like a Radio Flyer wagon I say go ahead...

The critiques about these ebay types of coilovers seem to vauge and uninformative. There are some really cheap ones out there for like $60. Let's say someone purchase one of those and put their own springs in place. At that point what issues would they have?
cdaleracer669: You say that if you had to buy a set all over again that you would buy a set of coilovers. Why is that?
Ground Control sells something somewhat similar so there's no reason that the concept can't work...

I am critiquing them on an engeneering standpoint. The concept is fine. They are taking an aluminum perch and placing a short-stiff spring on it. The concept is fine. BUT each car has different handling/weight load characteristics SO a universal spring rate will not suffice for people looking to have a competitive car or a driveable one at that. I've had cheap coil overs on an accord I owned and it rode like ***...
