What do you prefer, rear wiper, or no rear wiper?
I have access to a hatch I can get for pretty cheap, its from a SE and has no rear wiper. I never really liked the way the rear wiper made the car look, I thought it kinda ruined the lines of it a little. So I was thinking of buying it and swapping it for mine which has a wiper. I just wanted to hear everyone else's opinions, on which you prefer.

the weight savings is not going to amount to enough to make it worthwhile, unless you are turning your 7 into a race car. In that case, there are LOTS of other things you could take out of it that would give you results. As for my rear wiper on my GXL, I can't live without it with the weather we have here. I guess if I lived in Arizona or something, I would think differently, but the heavy rain and sometimes snow we get means I use it a lot
my car is bone stock though, so I don't really notice much about the looks of that wiper. When I get into the mods this year, I might change my mind

There have been times when I've been trying to back up into a parking spot in heavy rain that I would have killed to have had a rear wiper.
It'd nice to have one for times like that...

Here in Minnesota we don't have any snow or anything... lol Still don't need no stinking wiper.
Rear defroster is all I needed and I drove my 7 all winter this year. Not like the wipers are strong enough to cut the frost anyways. You'll be scraping the sucker regardless. Less **** to get in the way, and less **** to break.

Yea, I dont really care about the use of it, although it is nice sometimes in the rain. And the 1/2# Id save isnt gonna make my car any faster. Like I said though, I just think it looks kinda funny, almost out of place..
I think the rear wiper is symbolic of 80's cars, and I kind of like it because of that.
I wish my rear window squirter was working properly though, I can hear the squirter motor, but only a dribble comes out!

Oh come on, did you have to say that?
oh, wait, I am slow compared to a TII (or a GXL, GTU, or GTUs)

BTW, it you're willing to remove it just to lose a few pounds, you should've bought a lighter car...
I think the rear wiper weighs more than half a pound if you include the motor the spuirter and the resivuor that is in the hatch area it might be 5lbs. Ever drop counts. My parts car has a rear wiper but my sport don't the only thing I find it useful for is to open the hatch because the shox on it are dead.
No wiper. Who gives a crap about the rain...just use your side mirrors if you have to. Plus, why would you want to drive your 7 in the rain? That just sucks....and snow, again, why would you drive your 7 in the snow? Unless the 7 is your only car. Even then I still wouldn't want a rear wiper they look like crap.
I don't have a wiper. I don't really like how they look too much, but it's not a major thing really.
But whenever I leave my car out in the dew overnight I have to get out a squeegee and wipe it off. This isn't a big hassle though because I always let my car warm up for a couple mins in the morning. In the rain if you just step on the gas, the water blows off the hatch.

if the switch is out, do the same procedure to the switch as fixing the intermittant wipers. I'm *pretty* sure the relays are the same. The relay's location is even uncovered; so no need to saw on it like the OTHER wiper switch fix.

We'll pick it up tomorrow.
