What to do when making an FC for AutoX/Drifting?

I've decided that I need to get a cheap car to play around in at sanctioned events, I got an RX-8 earlier this year, tiptronic version (like $2k cheaper), and have found that I really like it, great handling, looks nice, but after breaking the rear wheel, bending two suspension linkages, and setting off the side impact airbags from a snap oversteer into a curb and getting into a telephone pole wire today that broke my headlight and crinkled my front bumper and fender, i've found that i need to drive it nicer and leave the DSC on....

Luckily, I work at Mazmart so I should be able to fix all that for under $2k (ha, ironically the approximate cost of trading it in for a 6-speed...).

I can't just not drive fast though, that's ridiculous, my addiction is too deep for that. So I need something to play around before I kill myself.

I was thinking I could find a TII, doesnt even really need an interior, for about $1k.
As far as engine work, I was planning on rebuilding whatever engine came with it and cleaning and polishing the ports. I'd like to add a CAI and a straight exhaust using the RB 3" downpipe. What I want to know is what will I need to do to the oiling system and will anything other than the addition of a RB FCC need to be done to ECU? whether necessary or just for additional power, can I get some kind of re-flash for it?

I'd also like to do some suspension work and foam-injection mod. I haven't found any pictures of where the foam is being injected though.
