What To Do What To Do

OK so im pretty excited over my 88 n/a mazda. but i have a huge problem i live in a little town were every one has there handa civic and what not im sure most of you know what i mean. Right away they all start laughing at me as i pull up in my 88 it is in dier need of a paint job i already decided that gun metal black with white offset is my choice for that and some kind of body kit. We also have alot of fun back roads real sidewinder stuff.

This is my delema do i
1. Do the Body work and get that out of the way
2. Do i work on handeling, suspension, and braking
3. Do i work on the performance(if so what do i start out with) also there are a couple of those honda civics that beat but not by much and it realy pisses me off.

P.S. what is the Motor oil of choise
Best exhaust system

Do you want to beat them, look good, or have fun in your car?

Beat them: 3
Have fun: 2/3
Look good: 1

Most people use Castrol GTX. Exhaust... Racing Beat is popular.

Work on performance\suspension first. Theres nothing better than beating down a civic with a car that looks like you just pulled it out of a junkyard!

I'm going: engine/performance>suspension>looks... It's totally up to you though. Be proud of your FC... Civics suck.

Check out the CMM, especially under the N/A performance section:
Community Modification Manual

Anyone else with good input feel free to post and update. Your car will be very fun on those roads, just take it easy for a while until you're used to how it handles (especially if it still has the dynamic tracking suspension and/or no LSD)!

Racing civics... you're only stooping to their level.
Only car I have ever raced was a Camaro, i still beat it.
Defineatly work on the suspension/brakes and engine first.

I have to agree with everyone else. Paint doesn't help your car perform better. Worry about the mechanics of the car, and when that is in order paint it. And forget the Honda guys. They are just jealous that you have a cooler car.
