What to do about exhuast (N/A)
Hey all, I am going to be putting in my rebuilt engine soon and am wondering what I should do about the exhuast. Later this summer I am going to have a race shop make me a mandrel bent system, but I am just going to get a cheap crimp bent one for now.
But I am wondering if I should use my header or just a down pipe and such off the stock manifold?
Should I have the crimp place make the collector or just wait?
And on a side note, I get my car back next week

You can kind of get used to the sound of the headers now, but then they'll look a bit uglier later on when you get the complete setup on there, but I say go for it, what header are you running?

Loud+RX-7= you scare the crap out of honda's
Well maybe it is just GT road car loud, but it still sounds really cool at low RPM's, and at high it is, well lets just say I can't hear my stereo all the way up, OK I can barley hear it, but if you have someone in the car and the won't shut up, all you have to do is drive at higher RPM's. And it is just like they shut up.

I wouldent waste your money putting on a cheep exhuast now... just do it right the first time, it will be worth it. You can do true duals, but.... a 2.5'' strait pipe to a free flowing cat back should be just fine for any setup you plan to run. And just install the header at the same time.. it again will save you from having to put it in later...

Don't mean to hijack the thread.
For HP the MT dual setup has to be the best. I like my setup, RX-7.com DP, cat, catback, just because it's a good price and decent gains.
The sexiest exhaust has to be the Greddy Power Extreme. Probably better for turbo though.

I got a Racing Beat Road Race Header, the only reason that I am having a cheap exhaust done first is because I don't really have the time/money (I do have the money but I am making excuses cuz I have no time nad I jsut want the car back). And the nearest mandrel bending place, or atleast the nearest place that has teh right bender is in Amity, which is like 1 1/2 hrs. away.
And I am NOT going with duals, it will be a collected single with a Borla XR-1s, and a cat with flanges at the ends so that I can replace it easily. I already did the math and stuff to know how far waway to collect it for pressure wave tuning and everything.
