Talking What to do with 3K$$???

Hey everybody... last time I was here I was posting about how my sister blew the motor in my 87 rex n/a... anyway, now I am in college and I am getting my first refund check from financial aide in few weeks and I wanna know what I should do with the money... I am going to get around $3500 a semester, plus I have a job at meineke... so, I was planning on rebuilding the motor and performing a few mods... does anyone have any suggestions as I am sort of new to rx7s...

well since you need a rebuild I'd recommend http://rotaryresurrection.com
After that you could put some suspension work in it

Yes, I am one step ahead of you... My god-father specializes in auto body paint and repair. He is "teaching me how to paint" by painting my car for me... so far he showed me how to strip paint, remove rust and replace panels, a little bit of welding, and how to prime a car. When he gets time we're going to tow my car to his garage and paint it either silver or pearl white... So, now I just need to know what to do to the car performance wise because I love rx7s and everytime when I go to "the tower", a local racing beat in ft. laud., moroso, or even sr9 in miami, I always see some really powerful rotarys like the 1st gen from ruff racing... I would give anything to have a car that powerful... on another note... I have decided to attend Ivor Wigham's European rally school and get my S.C.C.A. Pro-Rally liscense. does anyone in the forum rally for a living???? do you have any tips???

I don't suggest a TII swap, Just a powerful N/A car. Turboing a car that was N/A is going to be a pain. Get the 5th and 6th ports half bridge ported, mild street port the primary ports, then get electronic port actuation, bigger injectors and a higher capacity fuel pump.

hey, I always refer people to j-spec auto sports in canada. I bought my TII engine from them for $1425 shipped to your door. It's a complete long block and tranny,(s4 or s5) same price. I live in florida too so the complete total is $1425. Then just find the rest of the drivetrain. You can have it in your car and running for $2000( thats including the drivetrain). Then just find a convertible or TII ecu for $100

You could just sell the n/a with blown motor and buy a TII also if you want. And still have money left over for mods.

3K? You can almost fill up your tank with that... LOL

If paint job is already covered, a built, ported TII setup can be done for that price range, and make the car a lot more fun...

Or, tint, CS Border kit, and some nice wheels... if that's more your style. :-)

Um 3500. Coilovers, Sway bars, strut tower bars, Race seats, full roll cage, 5 point harness, brakes and all the good stuff and rip out everything and paint it! Next semester you can go for motor, everything else will be covered and finished and you'll have time to also decide what motor you'll get!
