What is the differnce bewteen the S4 and S5 lower intakes?

Ok, i was cleaning out my AUX port to get them working again and when trying to remove the fromt AUX port rod, i managed to break the "head" off.

I tried JB welding it after i could not find any S4 rods local but it came out a little off.

So i am now looking for another rod but all i can find is S5 rods/inakes. No S4's.

My question is, can the rods from an S5 work with an S4? or can i use the whole S5 intake without a lot of work? I have heard of people swaping to an S5 intake for some reason i don't know.

Basically any bright ideas on how i can get this back together? this is the only part that is holding me up.

Thanks

The rods and actuators are oriented differently...they actually turn opposite directions, and their start and stopping points are slightly different as the "head" relates to the manifold. YOu can swap the rods from the other series into your manifold, but the port alignment position will be slightly changed due to the difference in starting and stopping position, and so you'll need to figure a way to change the positioning of where they start and stop, by bending the little tabs.

When you try to change a whole manifold, you get into the fact that the front-most mounting stud (for the extension/middle manifold) has been relocated about 1/4 inch. The runners are the same, so you could technically run without that one stud and just let it be, but I would shy away from that.

Thanks, i see, whell how would i know what is the "right" alliment?

I JB welded my rod and it is a little off, if i could just move the tab to line it up i could use it. But i don't know how to line it up.

You'd pretty much need to compare 2 working intakes to see the exact difference, or have a spare engine iron that you can mock the intake up onto and check for alignment of the port sleeve with the different rods.
