What did I short out? Fuel pump switch install

Forgot to unhook battery, I know amateur mistake. So I was installing a fuel cut switch at the b/w center wire of the fuel pump relay under the dash. Now It won't run the pump even with the switch removed and the wire re joined. What have I shorted while soldering or have I melted something. Simply blown a fuse? I'm going to check the 15a enginefuse, would that be the one affected? I should point out ihsd the plug unplugged from the relay

Ok it is the fuse but the switch is what is blowing it. Am I supposed to run it through relay even though it comes from one? Or because I grounded the switch for the light on theswitch to work should I instead add an independent power source?

should be a fuel fuse,
Check the FAQs and you can get an idea where the fuse is,They have a pic of the cover for the interior fuse block in one of the threads.
I guess I do not have to tell you do I?..anything,ANYTHING Electrical,Disconnect your Battery!

also, to be sure, recheck the relay.

If you have one with a diode, make 100% sure the current is going the right way. If you did not, you prolly blown your diode and that is causing the blown fuse.

You simply might have grounded a wrong connector of the switch so the switch itself is grounded and not the light.

I think I had the two wires from the relay round the wrong way on the switch so when I turned it of it was grounding and blowing or something to that effect. I swapped them round and it's working sweet as.

Haha yeah dont want my car to smoke in my car. It's a no smoking area, part of the reason why I didn't mind modding my cigarette lighter into a starter switch. Lol
