what could cause a trans to try to stay in gear?

i let my car warm up after putting some pantyhose (yes, pantyhose) on my ocne filter to lower the boost a little.

well after taking 3rd gear up near redline and pushing in the clutch, it damn-near wouldnt come out of gear. i had to pull on it harder than the dickens to get it out, then i put it in 4th and could barely get it out of fouth when time came to change gears again... this lasted for a minute or two, and totally went away when the trans seemed to be "warmed up" whats the deal here? it shifts totally normally after about 5 minutes of driving... it only wants to get stuck in gear if the trans is "cold" and i step on the gas, then its fine after its been shifted several more times... any input wold help me out here.

Does it "chunk" out of gear? If the gears are under load, they won't want to come apart. This could be caused by a clutch not fully disengaging - have you noticed any problems with that?

Also, silly question, what's your tranny fluid age & level look like?

I'm wondering why you have panty hose handy...

Sounds just like my car when the clutch slave cylinder was going out. New slave cylinder and a SS braided clutch line(I'm a sucker for this stuff) later problem solved!
