What could cause the second rotor coils to not fire?

Heres the abriged version. I bought an 88 vert, my first 7, not running well, at all. The car has very little power, can barely idle, and smells pig rich. The previous owner took a stab in the dark and replaced the ECU first. The first thing I checked were the three cats, all which were in good shape. Next I grabbed my timing light, and accidentally started with L2, and got no output from my light. L1 has spark. T1 has spark, but T2 does not. So, what could cause my second rotors colis to no fire? I switched the T2 and L2 plug wires at the rotor and the engine runs exactly the same. Any input greatly appreciated. BTW I just picked up a compression gauge and FP test gauge, so I'll have some reading on that soon. Thanks!

Just an FYI-The leading igniter fires both Leading plugs at the same time, so I would say spark is available but the wire is bad, or plug is shot and not producing the spark which in turn would energize an inductive timing light.
Take the L2 and ground to chassis and give it a try and see if spark jumps from the wire to ground, then try T2 the same way.

Your timing light has a clamp that goes over the sparkplug wire. Right?

Light works on one plug wire but not the other. Right?

On the wire that does not SEEM to be firing, reverse the direction of the CLAMP on the wire. Now the light will work on that wire.

Like the man said above. There is but one LEAD coil. It fires both LEAD at the same time. CAn't have one without the other firing.
