Unhappy What could cause this?

it will have the weird problem where it will start and idle, but if you give it gas the fuel pressure drops considerably, and the car hits a brick wall at like 2k. if i dont let off the gas and allow the car to recover the idle, it will stall out. this is all under no load. im thinking it might be the fuel pump or the wiring to it, but im not sure extactly

I think you're on the right track.......

Has the re-wire been performed on the fuel pump?
How old is the filter? and the pump?

filter is a new earls inline type. the pump was a used FD pump with low mileage, but could have taken in something or failed. and no rewire was ever done

Put a gauge in the line that comes out of the fliter and tun the key on with the fuel pump check connector jumpered. Ther fuel pressure should be 70-90psi. I forget the exact figures.

How did you deternine the fuel pressure fell?

when the car is at idle or when i have the fuel pump on. its reads about 60. which is factory spec. i think i raised it a little higher actaually by like 5psi. but when i apply throttle the pressure drops to around 30. its like there isnt enough fuel getting to it.
