What are the consequences of having an ACT Unsprung Clutch?

I upgraded to a ACT unsprung Clutch(Xtrme Pressure Plate). Clamps 75% more than stock. I put In a RB Aluminum Flywheel as well. Is their any setbacks or consequences with this particular Clutch, seeing how It's unsprung?

Unsprung clutches are harder on your driveline since there are no springs to eat up the shock of a hard shift or hard clutch drop.

You can eat the transmission or rear end with an unsprung clutch. In my opinion, unsprung clutches are only to be used if your car is a dedicated race car or you just don't care about driveline integrity.

yeah but do they have high torque sprung discs? I was looking for a 4 or 6 puck sprung but Ive only seen solids. Maybe I got it wrong.

So, springs absorb the Impact generated when shifting? Makes sense.

thats what i herd about the 6 puck from act, thats what i was planning on getting soon, all the people i talked to said it took them a little while to get used to it (in this time your DT is going through hell) but once they got used to it, it wasn't that bad at all and there not sprung.......

I had one rom mazdatrix (Ferodo?), went thru 3 transmissions, and will have to replace the flywheel. The one I had ate up the flywheel.

It takes time to get used to it, and traffic had a NEW meaning

I have one and I love it. It does take a little to get use to but I hate the slop of a full face sprung clutch.
